STAR WARS Confirms New Kylo Ren Comic Series THE FALL OF KYLO REN as Fans Continue Hoping for a Ben Solo Movie
Lucasfilm and Marvel are heading back into the dark side of Ben Solo’s story with a brand-new comic series, and for fans still hoping to see Adam Driver return as Kylo Ren on the big screen, this announcement is probably going to stir up a lot of feelings.
Marvel officially announced Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren, a five-issue comic book event from writer Charles Soule and artist Will Sliney that promises to finish Kylo Ren’s story once and for all.
The series launches on August 12, 2026, and according to the official synopsis: “The truth behind Kylo’s motives and the full scope of his destiny are revealed here.”
Ever since the sequel trilogy wrapped up, some fans have wanted more Ben Solo stories, especially ones that dig deeper into his transformation, his failures, and what was happening internally during his rise through the First Order.
Director Steven Soderbergh revealed at one point that Lucasfilm had plans for a project called The Hunt for Ben Solo, from a script that he worked on with Driver.
Apparently, the movie spent years in development with Soderbergh, Adam Driver, and Kathleen Kennedy involved before Disney ultimately passed on it. According to Soderbergh, the whole situation became “frustrating” because the studio couldn’t get past the idea of how Kylo Ren could’ve survived after The Rise of Skywalker.
So while fans may never get that Ben Solo movie, this comic series looks like Lucasfilm’s way of giving the character one final major chapter.
Soule and Sliney already explored Kylo’s origins in Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren, and more recently worked together on Star Wars: Legacy of Vader, which followed Kylo across the galaxy as he searched for hidden truths connected to Darth Vader. They’ve spent years building out the emotional and psychological layers of the character, so having them close out the saga feels fitting.
This new story picks up with Kylo Ren returning to the First Order more dangerous and more driven than ever before. As Supreme Leader, he’s trying to tighten his grip on power while General Hux and Pryde begin tearing the organization apart through their own ambitions and internal conflict.
Kylo, naturally, doesn’t handle betrayal well. The series will follow his increasingly ruthless attempts to regain total control of the First Order, a path that eventually pushes him straight toward his downfall.
For comic readers, this could end up being really cool.Hopefully, Soule and Sliney stick the landing.
