STAR WARS: EPISODE IX Release Date Delayed Until December 2019
Following the announcement that J.J. Abrams would come in to write and direct Star Wars: Episode IX, Lucasfilm has announced that the release of the film has been delayed.
The final chapter in the new Star Wars trilogy was set to be released on May 24th, 2019. The movie will now open in theaters on December 20th, 2019. That same month in 2019, we will see the released of Wonder Woman 2 on December 13th, the big screen adaptation of the musical Wicked, and the feature film adaptation of Masters of the Universe, which will both come out on December 25th.
There seems to be a lot of mixed reactions from fans regarding Abrams' involvement with Episode IX, but for the most part, it seems like fans are happy with the choice of bringing him back. Personally, I was hoping Rian Johnson would take it, but I'm sure Abrams will deliver a great conclusion, so I'm not too worried.
