STAR WARS Fan Builds an Electric Powered Drivable TIE Fighter

Star Wars fan Allan Carver from Queensland, Nova Scotia built himself an incredibly cool looking electric powered TIE Fighter that's totally rideable! It's roughly one third the scale of a real tie fighter as depicted in the movies. I would absolutely love to ride around town in this bad boy!

The TIE Fighter is powered by mobility chair motors and tops out 6mph so it's not very fast. It can also be piloted remotely or from inside the cockpit via a remote controller. If that's not enough for you, it also makes TIE Fighter sounds! Carver says:

"I didn't want people to look at this and start picking it apart. I want people to look at this and go 'That's a TIE fighter.' The proportions are right, the details are close."

"I was like 'You know what would be cool? If you could actually drive a giant TIE fighter.'"

It's pretty sweet Star Wars ride and Carver should be proud of his TIE Fighter creation. You can check it out in action in the video below!

Home built tie fighter made from upcycled electric wheel chair motors. Top speed is 6 mph. Awesomeness and fun... unlimited. My website: http://allancarver.com/ Two kinds of foam were used. L200 for the body and rigid 2" thick insulation foam for the wings. The motor controller was a Sabertooth dual-motor driver and worked perfectly with the RC controller.
