STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Confirmed to Be The Longest STAR WARS Film Yet!

A couple months ago it was rumored that Star Wars: The Last Jedi would be the longest Star Wars film ever released. That rumor has now been confirmed by director Rian Johnson who says the full runtime is 2 hours 30 minutes long! That's a long movie, my friends. That's getting into Lord of the Rings territory, and it certainly gets me excited! The reveal came from a press conference in France where the director was promoting the film and the info was tweeted out:

The original three films in the trilogy are the shortest in the saga, with Star WarsThe Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi being the shortest with the runtimes of 121 minutes, 124 minutes and 132 minutes.

I'm ok with a long Star Wars movie! As long as the story is engaging and we are enjoying the experience it doesn't matter. I'm sure once the movie ends some of the hardcore fans, like myself, will be wishing it was even longer!

What do you all think about The Last Jedi clocking in at 2 hours and 30 minutes?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens on December 15, 2017. To catch up on all of our Star Wars: The Last Jedi news, and to watch the most recent promo spot for the film, click here.
