STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER - New Photos, Trailer Screenshots, and Details From Star Wars Celebration
Earlier today we shared the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. First of all, I love the title! We don’t know exactly what the title means, but fans are speculating that Rey is a Skywalker, which wouldn’t surprise a lot of fans.
Personally, I’m hoping that the title has a different and surprising meaning that the fans don’t see coming. We’ll just have to wait and see!
I’ve got a bunch of screenshots here from the big presentation at Star Wars Celebration featuring new photos from several of the characters in the film. I’ve also included a collection of screenshots from the trailer for you to check out as well!
I’ve already watched the trailer a ridiculous amount of times and I just get more excited every time that I watch it! I love the look and the tone. It also does a good job of not really telling us anything about the story!
One of my favorite parts of the trailer was seeing Billy Dee Williams back in the role of Lando piloting the Millennium Falcon with Chewy! The other part that really got me was the cackling laugh of Emperor Palpatine! I wasn’t expecting that at all! I can’t wait to see how he will factor into the story!
The cast and crew didn’t really reveal any kind of story details during the panel. One thing that Abrams did talk about was where the film picks up after the events of The Last Jedi and shared what it is that he’s most excited about fans to see:
“The movie doesn’t pick up immediately after the last film. Some time has passed. This movie is an adventure the group goes on together. One of the great things about getting to work on the movie is the dynamic between all of the characters. They’re amazing together, and it’s something I’m excited for you all to see.”
Abrams also teased new Force abilities. When asked about possibilities, he said:
"I'll say this, there are some extraordinary things that the character, and Daisy did, but I will say some of the stuff that was possible was [thanks to] the stunt coordinator...who was just amazing. Anyways, yes, there are some other things, and you'll see them soon."
