STAR WARS VILLAINOUS Is Coming To A Galaxy Near You This August

Ravensburger’s Disney Villainous is a very popular game that lets you play as your favorite Disney villain as you try to see your evil plans succeed before other players. There have been a ton of expansions including Marvel based ones. Now, Star Wars is getting its turn in the spotlight with the Power of the Dark Side expansion. Players will now get to choose between Darth Vader, Asajj Ventress, Kylo Ren, Moff Gideon, or General Grievous as you try to conquer the galaxy. It will have the same basic gameplay but with a few elements added in such as unique villain force abilities and vehicles that will help players influence their opponents more. 

The player character pieces all look really good, I especially like how they incorporated the lightsaber handle design for Darth Vader and Kylo Ren into the piece. Their choices of player characters is interesting and while I appreciate that they pulled from many different sources, I feel a little cheated that Darth Maul, Count Dooku, and Emperor Palpatine didn’t make the cut, but hopefully future expansions can help rectify this. That being said, I do love that Asajj is getting some love as I really enjoyed her in The Clone Wars. 

If it’s like previous expansions, this game will work as a stand alone which will be good for those who like Star Wars, but don’t care about getting the base game for Villainous. Star Wars Power of the Dark Side Villainous will be available August 2022 at retailers and local game stores nationwide.
