Starz Renews AMERICAN GODS For Season 2
You know a network is happy with a show when they order extra seasons while the first season is still airing. For Starz, that show is American Gods. Today the cable network ordered season 2 only weeks after the very first episode of the show premiered. Deadline reports that although it's not confirmed how many episodes will be ordered in that second season, they say it could at very least be 8, similar to the season 1 order.
Starz's told the outlet why it's investing so heavily in American Gods and the show's producers:
"Bryan Fuller, Michael Green and Neil Gaiman have evolved the art form of television narratively, structurally and graphically with American Gods, and we’re thrilled to be working again with these artists as they continue to build the worlds and wars of the gods."
American Gods stars Emily Browning, Ricky Whittle, Pablo Schreiber, Ian McShane, Orlando Jones, Kristin Chenoweth, Crispin Glover and more. It airs Sunday nights at 9pm on Starz.
When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.
