Stephen Amell To Wrestle Stardust At WWE Summerslam

Arrow star Stephen Amell has been petitioning for close to a year to be a celebrity host on WWE's Monday Night RAW. He had a very short cameo a few months back where he appeared in the audience to widespread cheers and caused a bit of tension with WWE superstar Cody Rhodes, aka Stardust.

The stare down led to the following promo being cut by Stardust after the shows conclusion.

At this point, wrestling geeks were super psyched at the idea of Amell getting in the ring with the son of Dusty Rhodes and brother to Goldust! Of course, many pointed out that Amell would likely need some training to be able to work the ring with such an experienced wrestler. Many speculated that the two would perhaps wrestle at Wrestlemania, which would've given Amell several months to prepare.

Last night it was revealed it would be happening much, much sooner! Two weeks from now at WWE's Summerslam Pay Per View, to be exact. It all started when Amell interfered in a match between superstar Neville and King Barrett.

And then Amell confronts who else but C.O.O. Triple H, demanding a match.

As a fan of both Arrow and wrestling, I'm pretty pumped for this...provided it's done right. I didn't want to necessarily see Oliver Queen get a win and in a way bury the character of Stardust, especially if his wrestling skills are basic at best. This tag match makes me feel a little better about the whole thing. Summerslam takes place August 23rd on the WWE Network!
