Stephen King and Joe Hill's Novella THROTTLE is Getting a Film Adaptation For HBO Max

HBO Max has picked up the rights to Stephen King and Joe Hill’s novella Throttle, and they are in the early stages of development for a film adaptation.

The short story was first published in 2009 in an anthology titled He Is Legend and that was followed by a 2012 comic book adaptation from IDW Publishing. The story follows a father and son led biker gang who end up being terrorized by a big rig truck on an isolated stretch of the American desert.

Leigh Dana Jackson, who is a co-executive producer on the Netflix series Raising Dion, has been hired to write the script. The project is also being produced by David S. Goyer and Keith Levine through their Phantom Four label.

Stephen King’s stories are a hot commodity in Hollywood and I’m sure they always will be. The guy is such an incredible storyteller! As for his son, Joe Hill, he is also seeing a lot of success with the adaptations of his projects such as NOS4A2 and Locke & Key.
