Stephen King Reveals His Favorite Easter Egg to Look Out For in THE DARK TOWER Movie
There are going to be a lot of Stephen King Easter eggs in The Dark Tower. We already pointed out three of them that were included in the first trailer that was released. You can read up on those here. They include a photo of Overlook Hotel from The Shining, the ruins of an amusement park with a Pennywise sign inspired by It, and the Crimson King. Stephen King has a favorite Easter egg, though, that wasn't in the trailer and in a recent interview with IGN, he reveals what it is and where you can spot it. He explained:
“If viewers who are familiar with my work look very closely, they might see Cujo. Keep an eye out for Cujo in New York City.”
For those who aren't familiar with Cujo, he is a rabid St. Bernard from the novel and film. I saw the movie Cujo when I was a kid and it actually gave me a fear of dogs, which I had for a long time. So weird what a movie about a rabid dog could do to a kid. Regardless, I'm sure there will be even more Easter eggs for fans to keep an eye out for when watching the movie.
The Dark Tower isn't the only King film being released this summer. There's also the horror film It, and when asked what he thought about the trailer for It, he revealed that he's already seen a cut of the film. These are the thoughts he shared:
"I thought that the trailer was terrific, and I’ve seen the movie, and I think it’s also terrific. I think people are going to be very pleased with both that and The Dark Tower. I’m very fortunate that these two movies are opening only weeks apart, and both are very good.”
I'm so excited about watching both of these movies becasue they look great! They can't get into theaters soon enough, but luckily we don't have to wait that much longer. The Dark Tower will be released on August 4th and It will be released on September 8th.
