Stephen King Says THE RULE OF JENNY PEN is One of The Best Movies He's Seen This Year
The master of horror, Stephen King, recently offered high praise for a new, dark thriller that’s coming to Shudder titled The Rule of Jenny Pen.
When King isn’t lashing out at Donald Trump and Elon Musk on X, he’s recommending movies and TV shows for his fans to watch, and it sounds like this one is a good one to look out for.
King wrote on X: "I watched one of the best movies I've seen this year. It's called THE RULE OF JENNY PEN, and I urge you to watch it when it appears on Shudder. Geoffrey Rush stars, with John Lithgow as a geriatric psychopath with an evil hand puppet."
The Rule of Jenny Pen is an adaptation of an Owen Marshall short story and it was directed by James Ashcroft, from a script he wrote with Eli Kent.
In the film, “Confined to a secluded rest home and trapped within his stroke-ridden body, a former Judge must stop an elderly psychopath who employs a child's puppet to abuse the home's residents with deadly consequences.”
The film premiered at this year's Fantastic Fest and is expected to hit Shudder in 2025.
I like when King recommends stuff to watch because he’s usually spot on with the kind of stories that I enjoy. I’ll be looking forward to watching this one!
