Stephen King Says THE STAND Could Be More Than One Film

I'm really excited about seeing Josh Boone's vision of Stephen King's The Stand. The guy has gushed about what a fan he is of King and this particular book. King himself even approves of what Boone is planning to with it. In a recent interview with MTV, the famous author talked about the big screen adaptation of The Stand, and he hints at a couple interesting things.

“I think that his take is terrific. And don’t count on it being one film. Because there’s talk about doing it in an entirely different and innovative way. And I don’t want to go into it because it’s Josh’s baby.”

It's awesome to hear that King has signed off on his work. One of the interesting points he makes here is that we shouldn't count on the adaptation being one film. Boone previously said that it would be one three hour long R-rated movie, but according to King, they miust be planning something different. The other thing King said that stuck out was that the story will be told in a "entirely different and innovative way."

That could mean a number of things, such as using something interactive to help in the storytelling process, or maybe continuing the story in some kind of series like what Ron Howard wanted to do with The Dark Tower. We'll eventually find out what is really going on, and as a fan of this novel, I'm incredibly excited to see what Boone and the studio are really planning for it. I would personally love to see it split up into two or three films, but even if that isn't the case, it sounds like Boone has a solid plan for bringing this story to life.
