Stephen King's SALEM'S LOT Movie Casts Lewis Pullman in the Lead Role
Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale, Top Gun: Maverick) has landed the lead role in New Line Cinema’s upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King’s best-selling novel, Salem’s Lot.
Pullman will take on the role of author Ben Mears, “a man who returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a vampire, leading him to band together with a ragtag group that will fight the evil presence.”
This will be Pullman’s biggest movie role to date and it’s going to be a great role for him to take on. The role was previously played by David Soul in the 1979 miniseries that came from director Tobe Hooper.
Gary Dauberman, who previously produced New Line’s two-part adaptation of King’s It, wrote the script and is directing the film. It will start shooting in September in Boston.
Salem’s Lot is a great freakin’ vampire story and one of my favorite King books. I would really love to see Dauberman deliver a great adaptation.
