Stephen King's THE DARK HALF Is Being Adapted by Director Alex Ross Perry for MGM

Alex Ross Perry, writer and director of Her Smell, is taking on the king of horror by directing the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s novel The Dark Half. The story parallels King’s own experience in using a pseudonym to write some of his own novels under the name Richard Bachman.

In this story, a famed author takes on a pseudonym to write grisly crime novels. “Once his pseudonym is exposed, the author and his wife decide to give the other author a ceremonial burial. And then the people who were involved in doing that start turning up dead as it appears the alter ago has taken on a life of his own.”

This has all the ingredients for a good thriller. Hopefully, they get some good casting and it all turns out. It’s funny that King had a handful of movies and made for TV adaptations from his books back in the 80s and 90s, and it seems that they are getting a huge resurgence now with bigger budgets and names attached. It’s pretty awesome for all the fans of King’s novels that they are getting to see all these stories play out on the big screen. The first adaption of this novel was released in 1993.
