Steve Carell in Talks to Join the Feature Film Adaptation of MINECRAFT

It looks like Warner Bros. is about to cast the first big actor in their feature film adaptation of the popular video game franchise Minecraft. According to Variety, Steve Carell is currently in talks to take on a lead role in the film.

I don't play Minecraft, but I think there's a good chance that this adaptation could be really fun and entertaining. The reason I say that is because the film is being written and directed by Rob McElhenney, who is the creator, writer, and star of the hilarious comedy series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

There's no information on who Carell will be playing in the film, but he will be a part of an ensemble cast that will make up a number of characters in the story. There are no details on what that story might be, but I'm sure McElhenney has come up with something that audiences will get a kick out of.

Minecraft is set to be released in theaters on May 25th, 2017.
