Steve Coogan Adopts a Penguin in Delightful Trailer for THE PENGUIN LESSONS

Lionsgate has released the trailer for a delightful-looking film titled The Penguin Lessons, which tells a story about rescuing a penguin in Argentina. It looks like a fun feel-good dramedy.

The movie is based on Penguin Random House's bestselling book of the same name by Tom Michell. It tells the true story of “a disillusioned Englishman who went to work in a school in Argentina in 1976.

“Expecting an easy ride, he instead discovered a much more complicated & divided nation – and a class of practically unteachable young boys.

“However, when he finds a small penguin washed up on an oil slicked beach, his life is turned upside down – and the penguin becomes not only a valued friend, but also a teacher of life's most important lessons, for Tom, the boys and, in fact, everyone he meets.”

The Penguin Lessons is directed by Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty, Lucky Break), and it stars Steve Coogan, Björn Gustafsson, David Herrero, Jonathan Pryce, Vivian El Jaber, Aimar Miranda, Micaela Breque, Tomas Pozzi, and Ramiro Blas.

Lionsgate UK will debut the film in UK cinemas on April 18th, 2025. There’s no US release date yet.
