Steve Martin and Martin Short Have a True Crime Comedy Series Coming To Hulu

Steve Martin and Martin Short have developed a new untitled comedy series with This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman that was just picked up by Hulu. The half-hour project is based on an idea that Steve Martin came up with involving three strangers who are obsessed with true crime.

According to Deadline, the series is set in New York City and these three strangers "suddenly find themselves wrapped up in a true crime of their own.” “Longtime friends and frequent collaborators Martin and Short play two of the strangers, the third is a younger woman.” Its explained that New York City is expected to be a big character in the show as well.

I’m a huge fan of Steve Martin and I’m excited to see that he’s developing a new series like this. As someone who enjoys true crime stories, this is something that could be really fun to watch. Fogelman said in a statement:

“When you’re lucky enough to have lunch with Steve Martin, and halfway through the meal he says ‘hey, I have an idea for a TV show’ – it’s a pretty good day. This is as exciting as it gets.”

Martin is writing the series with Grace and Frankie executive producer John Hoffman, and there are a number of actresses who have reached out to take on the lead female role opposite Martin and Short.

I’ll be looking forward to watching this!
