Steve Martin Is the Subject of a 2-Part Documentary From Apple Original Films

Apple Original Films is producing a two-part documentary film that will explore the life and career of the great Steve Martin. Martin is one of my all-time favorite comedians. I grew up listening to and watching his stand-up comedy, and I love the films that he’s made over the course of his career.

Martin is working on the doc with director Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor) and it is also being produced by A24.

There are no other details on the doc that have been revealed, but as a long-time fan of Martin, it’s definitely something that I’ll be looking forward to watching.

Martin currently stars in Hulu’s wonderful comedy series Only Murders In the Building, and I recently heard that he may retire when he’s finished with that show. I hope that’s not the case! It’d be sad to never see Martin do anything new again!

Apple’s documentary slate also includes the four-part Earvin “Magic” Johnson docuseries They Call Me Magic; Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry; The Velvet Underground; Sidney, the upcoming documentary honoring actor, filmmaker and actor Sidney Poitier, and the untitled feature film about the life of Michael J. Fox.
