Steve Martin Says He'd Like to See Cate Blanchett and Ryan Reynolds Guest-Star on ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING
The Hulu murder-mystery comedy series Only Murders In the Building has an incredible all-star cast that includes Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. They have been joined over the seasons by tons of great guest stars as well, including Tina Fey's recurring role as podcast guru Cindy Canning; Amy Ryan, Jane Lynch, Cara Delevingne, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Paul Rudd's Hollywood star Ben Glenroy, and returning co-star Meryl Streep.
The upcoming fourth season continues the star-studded tradition as Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, and Zach Galifianakis will appear this season as themselves, actors taking on the respective roles of Mabel, Charles, and Oliver in an Only Murders movie as the show’s podcasting gang are whisked off to Hollywood.
So who else would the three original stars like to add to their roster in the coming seasons? They sat down with GamesRadar+ to answer that question, and after some initial hesitation from Martin Short, he said "there's a lot of wonderful actors" he would love to appear in the show.
Then Steve Martin got down to business naming them, starting with “Cate Blanchett." Selena Gomez and Short nodded in agreement, with the latter exclaiming that he "loves" the Tár and Lord of the Rings star.
Martin then proposed the idea of Ryan Reynolds, to which Martin replied, "that would be great." I think Reynolds would be great in the series! He’s a fantastic comedian, and that show is such a blast. The first episode of season 4 is now streaming on Hulu.
