Steven Spielberg and Amblin Will Develop a New Sci-Fi Film Called THE MOTHER CODE

Steven Spielberg and his Amblin Partners production company have acquired the feature film rights to an upcoming sci-fi novel called The Mother Code. This sounds like the kind of film project that is right up Spielberg’s alley.

The Mother Code is set “in a world in which a biological weapon has nearly destroyed the planet, leading scientists and government officials working to save the human race by placing unborn children in the care of artificially intelligent mother robots. When the government decides the machines must be destroyed, one boy who was raised and nurtured by a robot must fight to save the only parent he has ever known.”

Amblin has hired Amy Louise Johnson to write the script for the film. She has worked on the SyFy series Nightflyers, which is a solid series. This will be her first film project and it’s certainly a big one!

Spielberg has a long history of developing sci-fi projects and I’ll be looking forward to seeing how the movie comes together.
