Steven Spielberg Casts Seth Rogen as His Favorite Uncle in His Upcoming Film
Steven Spielberg is in the middle of casting his upcoming untitled film, which will be loosely based on the director’s childhood growing up in Arizona. Seth Rogen is the latest actor to be cast in the film, and he’s set to take on the role of young Spielberg’s favorite uncle.
Rogen will join the previously cast Michelle Williams, who is taking on a role inspired by Spielberg’s mom. It’s explained that she will have “a separate and original voice.”
Spielberg is also co-writing the script with Tony Kushner (Munich, Lincoln). This is the first time that Spielberg has worked on a script for a film since 2001’s sci-fi film A.I. This film will be the first time that the director will offer some perspective on the early years of his life and what inspired him to be one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.
