Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment Has Picked Up The Rights To The WWII Novel DAUGHTERS OF THE RESISTANCE
Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment has picked up the right to an upcoming World War II book called Daughters of the Resistance: Valor, Fury and the Untold Story of Women Resistence Fighters In Hitler’s Ghettos.
The book comes from author Judy Battalion, and DreamWorks Pictures will produce the feature film adaptation of the film. According to Deadline, the book and film will tell the untold story of "young Jewish women and girls who fought in the resistance against the Nazis. Batalion, a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, discovered the women’s first-hand accounts in Yiddish."
This is sure to end up being a powerful and inspirational novel and film and I want to know more about this story! There's no word on who will direct it, but Spielberg is booked for the next few years with West Side Story and Indiana Jones 5.
