Strange Trailer For The Italian Neo-Realist Film CAVERNA Which Involves a Mythical World of Creatures
I’ve got a strange trailer here for you to watch today for an upcoming neo-realist movie titled Caverna. The movie is said to blend “a verité shooting style with a fantastical mythical world of creatures — representing the inner world of the characters.”
In the film, “A cyclops strangles a man and then chases a princess through a forest. In a progressive theater workshop outside of Florence, students Giorgia and Lorenzo act out their dreams and childhood traumas, as teacher Alba pushes them to confront their inner myth. Giorgia and Lorenzo become psychically intertwined.”
As you’ll see in the trailer things get pretty surreal and I’m not sure what exactly is going on, but the cyclops is interesting. Caverna is co-directed by Daniel Contaldo and Hannah Swayze, who are both making their feature directorial debut. The film stars Giorgia Tomasi, Lorenzo Passaniti, Catarina Fornaciai, and Fabio Benvenuti.
Good Deed Ent. will debut Caverna direct-to-VOD in the US on August 15th, 2023.
