STRANGER THINGS is Getting a Eggo Waffle-Based Card Game and I Totally Didn't Expect That!

I guess it was only a matter of time before we saw a card game based on Stranger Things, but I didn't expect it to be an Egg Waffle-based card game! The game comes from Hasbro and it looks like it's either called "Stranger Things Kellogg’s Eggo Brand Card Game" or maybe it's just "Card Game", I can't tell.

We get a few bits of other information from the box, we can tell that the game comes with 106 Eggo cards, 7 character cards, and instructions. It also says that it's "fortified with Eleven’s vitamins!". What the hell does any of this mean!? Well, thanks to Hasbro, we have a description that explains everything.... and at the same time makes things more confusing:

Play as your favorite characters from the hit NETFLIX Series STRANGER THINGS with the STRANGER THINGS: EGGO CARD GAME! To begin, players choose to play as Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Eleven, Hopper, or Barb and draw four EGGO cards with a variety of suspenseful outcomes. Cards can either send a player’s character to the UPSIDE DOWN, make an opponent draw 2, reverse the order of play, summon the DEMOGORGON, or cause a rift that sends everyone who was RIGHT SIDE Up to the UPSIDE DOWN, and vice versa! To win and escape the UPSIDE DOWN, get rid of all your EGGO cards before the DEMOGORGON attacks or be toast! Game includes 106 EGGO-shaped game cards and 7 character cards.

If you're familiar with playing card games like this then maybe this description makes sense to you. Sounds to me like it's kind of like Uno but with Waffle cards? This whole Waffle theme just so weird. I get that Eleven likes Eggo Waffles, but using Waffles as the theme of the game? Well, Hasbro did it and I guess... why not make the game Waffle-themed! It's all for fun.

The Stranger Things Eggo Waffle Card Game will be released later this fall for $15.
