STRANGER THINGS Actress Maya Hawke Says She "Would Love" for Robyn to Die and Have "Hero's Moment" in Season 5

Stranger Things is gearing up to make the fifth and final season of the series, and after the epic fourth season we got to watch this summer, we are ready to take it on. It will be sad to see the conclusion of this series, as it’s been the biggest hit Netflix has ever seen, and we have watched the stars grow up before our eyes, but it’s been such a fun ride. The show is so well done, and I know we are going to get an awesome final season to wrap the story up.

But the part that’s giving me anxiety about the show ending is that the characters are going up against their biggest nemesis yet, and we may not see everyone make it out alive. But wherever things land, we know one star of the series who is willing to lay down her character’s life if that’s what it takes. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Maya Hawke said of her character, Robyn:

“I would love to die and get my hero’s moment. I’d love to die with honor, as any actor would. But I love the way that the Duffer Brothers love their actors. The reason that they write so beautifully for me and for everyone else is because they fall in love with their actors and their characters, and they don’t want to kill them. I think that’s a beautiful quality that they have, and I wouldn’t wish it away.”

Hawke also revealed that her character is team Steve and Nancy. However, the actor analyzed the relationship between Steve and Nancy on a deeper level, adding:

“I personally think that the thing that’s so beautiful about the show: it actually has never really been about romance. People are always shipping characters in that show, but really that show’s about friendship.”

I think that’s what drew everyone in. Season 1 was about this group of friends who would stop at nothing to protect one of their own, and that has been at its core throughout the whole run. I can’t wait to see what happens in Season 5, which is set to hit Netflix in 2023.
