STRANGER THINGS Cast and Crew Tease Season 2 and Its Bigger, Darker Stakes

Stranger Things season two is currently in production, and fans are eagerly anticipating the return of their favorite characters. There's been a good amount of talk about the series and what we can expect, but nothing that really offers any details on the plot.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, actor Noah Schnapp, who played Will Byers, Winona Ryder’s missing son, continued to tease what we can expect from season two. Will will play a much bigger role in season two, and he confirms that it will start off right where season one ended... with Will vomiting out a slug.

“You’ll be seeing more of me. I’ll be there. In the last episode, I threw up a slug, so season 2 begins with what happens from there. There may have been some effect on him. I may or may not have turned into a monster. You’ll have to watch to find out.”

Director and producer Shawn Levy went on to add that it will have bigger and darker stakes:

“Season 2 is bigger and potentially darker in its stakes. The threat, which in Season 1 was to Will Byers, has grown. That’s all I’m going to say! But, I will say Season 2 has a bigger cast and is definitely loyal to the kind of magical storytelling that we established in the first season. It’s character-based and still about our core group of characters.”

Finn Wolfhard, who plays Will’s friend Mike Wheeler, chimed in with his thoughts saying that the new season will show more personal growth within their group of friends:

“Now that we’ve done a season, we know exactly about our characters. We are very conscious of them and can take them to the next level. I think we’ve grown up a little bit, and our characters have too. They have been through a lot and have used those experiences to help them grow and to be stronger in Season 2.”

I have so many questions that I want answers to, but I'll wait until season two premieres to find out what those answers are. The whole cast that survived the first season is set to return including Ryder and Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven. They will be joined by Goonies star Sean Astin and AliensPaul Reiser.

Stranger Things season two is set to be released in July 2017.
