STRANGER THINGS May End After Season 4 Because Those Kids "Have To Get The F**k Out of This Town"

After Stranger Things became a big hit, fans were wondering how many seasons they'd be treated to before it ended. Earlier this year the Duffer Bros. said that the plan was to go four or five seasons, but that it was all subject to change depending on how the series evolves.

Ross Duffer said, “Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see,” and Matt Duffer added, “I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.”

Now that Season 2 is in the bag and ready to premiere this October, the creators do have a better idea of where the series is going and when it will end. During a recent interview with Vulture, they confirmed that Season 3 is happening and that they want to close it out with Season 4. Ross said:

"We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out."

Matt went on to say that they realize that can't keep running these kids through the Upside-Down because it's not sustainable. He says:

"I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year."

Ross then amusingly teases that these kids are eventually going to have to get out of the town of Hawkins, especially after everything that they've gone through.

"They’re going to have to get the fuck out of this town! It’s ridiculous!"

Before they do leave town, though, they will be facing down bigger and badder monsters in Season 2. We all knew that this show would eventually come to an end, who knows though, maybe one day there will be a revival years later!

Stranger Things season two premieres on October 27th.
