STRANGER THINGS Season 5 is Officially in Production; See Photo of the Cast Behind the Scenes
The final season of Stranger Things is officially in production, and the show’s social media has shared a behind the scenes photo of the cast assembled in a room, possibly doing a read through before getting to work.
The Netflix series was close to starting production on Season 5 when the WGA strike began May 2nd. Scripts had been completed by then, but faced with the prospect of filming without writers on set, creators, executive producers and showrunners the Duffer Brothers opted instead to postpone production, which then was delayed further by the actors strike.
The show’s core returning cast includes David Harbour, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton.
When talking about the final season, co-creator Ross Duffer previously shared that this final chapter of the story is going to be an emotional arc for Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and that it will tie the entire series together. Ross Duffer explained:
"Will really takes center stage again in [season] 5. This emotional arc for him is what we feel is going to hopefully tie the whole series together. Will is used to being the young one, the introverted one, the one that’s being protected. So part of his journey, it’s not just sexuality – it’s Will coming into his own as a young man."
When previously describing Stranger Things 5, the writing team described the next chapter of the story is “like if Season 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that baby was injected with steroids."
We will see what that looks like soon enough. Stranger Things Season 5 is set to hit Netflix in 2025.
