STRANGER THINGS Writer and Producer Team Up For Superhero Sci-Fi Crime Thriller Called PULSE

Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy and writer Jessie Nickson-Lopez are teaming up for a cool sounding new film project called Pulse. The pitch from the film came from Nickson-Lopez and it's based on an upcoming book written by Michael Harvey.

The movie is a described as a "superhero origin and coming-of-age story that bridges crime with science fiction." According to THR, the story follows "a teenager investigating the murder of his older brother alongside the police. During this period, and with the help of a mysterious mentor, the young man begins developing a unique ability that helps him uncover the truth and protect himself along the way."

I'm curious to see how this story plays out and learn how and why this teenager is developing a super power. I can understand why the Stranger Things team would want to develop this story as a feature film. The story sounds like it could have that classic 1980s movie vibe with all the magical and mysterious elements that we loved about those film.

Nickson-Lopez is currently writing on on the Netflix series NarcosPulse would make her first feature film writing gig. Pulse is set up at New Line Cinema and I'm looking forward to see how it develops.
