STREET FIGHTER Clip Unleashes Jason Momoa’s Wild Blanka as He Fights Ryu

The marketing for Street Fighter is leaning all the way into the insanity of Capcom’s legendary fighting game, and honestly, it looks like everyone involved understood the assignment.

Every trailer and clip released so far has teased a movie that isn’t afraid to embrace the franchise’s larger-than-life characters, colorful action, and over-the-top energy.

If director Kitao Sakurai was looking to make a Street Fighter movie that feels like the games jumped straight onto the big screen, this latest footage makes a pretty convincing case.

A newly released clip gives us our best look yet at Jason Momoa as Blanka, also known as Jimmy, and it’s exactly as outrageous as you’d hope. The fan-favorite fighter appears in all of his green-skinned glory, complete with the ability to channel electricity through his body.

The scene throws Blanka into a fight with Ryu, who fires off his signature Hadouken fireball at the end of the clip. It’s the kind of matchup Street Fighter fans are going to enjoy seeing play out in live action.

What makes the clip even more entertaining is that the movie doesn’t appear interested in toning down the stranger corners of the franchise.

Blanka has always been one of Street Fighter's most unusual characters, a Brazilian man transformed into a monstrous green beast with electrical abilities, and the film seems perfectly happy to present that concept without trying to explain away what makes him so weird.

Everything we've seen from the movie points to Sakurai embracing the series with a tongue-in-cheek attitude while still delivering the martial arts action fans expect.

That balance could end up being exactly what this adaptation needs. Rather than chasing gritty realism, Street Fighter looks like it's having fun with the source material, and that playful approach might be one of its biggest strengths.

Street Fighter is set to help close out the Summer of 2026 with what looks like an action-packed, wildly entertaining adaptation of one of gaming’s most beloved fighting franchises.

If the rest of the movie delivers the same kind of energy as this Blanka versus Ryu showdown, fans could be in for one seriously fun ride.

Check out the clip below and let us know what you think of Momoa’s take on Blanka.
