STREET FIGHTER V DLC Character Gets A Release Date

In a recent announcement by Capcom, the company has revealed that the next DLC character coming for Street Fighter 5 will be Blanka. This new addition will be available on February 20, and Capcom even released a trailer that gives us a preview of Blanka’s latest iteration.

Capcom explained on their website that:

“In SFV: AE, Blanka is living peacefully with his mother, and has adapted well to being introduced back into society. One day, a suspicious salesman approaches him and offers a way to make Blanka famous by mass producing a doll made in Blanka’s likeness. Will it work? Find out in his character story mode.”

Looking at the trailer, Blanka is portrayed as ever more aggressive than ever as he is seen biting and clawing down his enemies. Capcom also revealed that his Coward Crouch ability will serve as his V-Skill and can be used to avoid enemy attacks that include fireballs. Furthermore, his V-Trigger I will be called Jungle Dynamo, which is a roll attack that would incur more damage and can be followed up by additional attacks such as Critical Art.

Lastly, Blanka’s V-Trigger II is Lightning Beast, which gives him the ability to “unlock a special move, Rolling Cannon (Direction + HP+HK), which can be performed after using Rolling Attack, Back Step Rolling, and Vertical Rolling.” With this new move, Blanka is able to do more combos. You can check out all the details on this new character on the video posted above.

Blanka will be available for $6 or 100,000 Fight Money. However, for players who own the Season 3 Character Pass, he will be available free of charge. The Season 3 Character Pass also includes several characters such as Sakura (who is available now), Falke, Cody, G, and Sagat, who will all be available soon. If Blanka is purchased with real money, or as part of the Season 3 Character Pass, his Battle Costume 3-10 and default costume 3-10 will also be included.
