Striking Indiana Jones Poster From Bottleneck Gallery

Indiana Jones may be my favorite cinematic hero of all time, and NYC's Bottleneck Gallery is one of my favorite pop culture art galleries, so any time there's something that meets in the middle of that Venn diagram, you can bet I'll be writing about it. The latest example: artist Hans Woody's art print dedicated to Steven Spielberg's 1981 classic action adventure film Raiders of the Lost Ark.

This is a more contemplative look at Jones than we often see. The artwork is striking and the colors are gorgeous (gotta love that burnt orange), but the poster commits one sin that's only forgivable because the art is so good: the title printed on the poster? That's not the real title. The movie is called Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark was only given to the film after the fact in 1999 to be consistent with the home video releases of the rest of the movies in the series. Yes, it's a small nitpicky technicality, but you'll never find a REAL Indy fan referring to the movie as Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Still...cool poster, huh? Unfortunately, they're already sold out. But keep an eye on Bottleneck's website for tons of other cool stuff in the future.
