Studio Ghibli is Getting Its Very Own Theme Park and it Sounds Beautiful and Peaceful
Marvel is getting a theme park in Disneyland, Harry Potter has his own theme park in Universal Studios, and now Studio Ghibli is getting a theme park of their very own. And it sounds beautiful!
The park is known as "Ghibli Park", and it will be opening outside Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The park will be based in the world of My Neighbor Totoro, but before you start thinking you're going to be riding a giant Cat Bus Rollercoaster, you should know that the park is not planning on having rides. It will allow visitors to enjoy flowers and trees with Totoro themed things around. So it's not going to be your average theme park.
The park will be located on a 200 hectare plot of land where Satsuki and Mei's house was recreated for the 2005 World's Fair. They are hoping to open the park by 2020. It sounds beautiful, and very peaceful, which is how I feel a Ghibli-Land should be.
