Study Reveals Romantic Films Cloud People's Judgment When It Comes to Being Creepy

Have you ever loved someone? Have you ever had an unrequited love? Have you ever randomly showed up at a woman's house and watched her through her window while she changed, slept, or watched TV on her couch? Of course you haven't, because that's messed up, as well as a felony if you get caught. Yet all the time we are shown these actions as what the most desperate of men do to get the girl, and it's messing with our minds!

Glamour talks about a study that revealed women who watch a lot of romantic films are far less able to spot dangerous situations when it comes to stalkers, and even sometimes mistake stalking for acts of love. At first I laughed this off as a "who actually believes this" kind of thing. Then I started reading that 76% of women murdered by an intimate partner were first stalked by that person before starting a relationship with them.

Ladies... you don't date the guy who will drop notes at your door at 3 am but won't approach you in broad daylight. Guys, don't use romantic films as a model for how to pursue a relationship...you will get arrested.

Remember, if they're crazy enough to follow you around for a week straight and make mixtapes to your life, they're also crazy enough to stab you 40 times when you tell them you have plans Friday night.
