We have a beautiful first look for you at the upcoming film adaptation of Little Women. This iteration is directed by Greta Gerwig, who was nominated for her 2017 hit film Lady Bird, which she called an autobiography. Now she’s back with the same star, Saoirse Ronan, directing the story she describes by saying, “This feels like autobiography. When you live through a book, it almost becomes the landscape of your inner life. … It becomes part of you, in a profound way.” I absolutely feel that in such a profound way. Little Women is my favorite book of all time as well, and I have loved each reread and each retelling. I can’t wait for this film.

Ronan stars as Jo March, and is joined in the cast by Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, and Meryl Streep. Timothee Chalamet plays neighbor Laurie.
