Stunning Teaser Trailer for the Series Adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s Sci-Fi Classic FOUNDATION
Whoa… Apple TV+ has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming series adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi classic Foundation. As you’ll see, this series looks freaking spectacular! This trailer is stunning, and it actually gave me the chills. This looks so much better than I was expecting!
Asimov’s Foundation was originally published as a short story series for Astounding Magazine in 1942. The story chronicles the saga of The Foundation, “a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it.” The complex saga tells the story of humans that are scattered on planets throughout the galaxy, and all of them are living under the rule of the Galactic Empire.
David S. Goyer, who has worked on several DC film projects over the years, serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series, and he offers some insight on the series at the beginning of the teaser. Jared Harris and Lee Pace star in the series as Hari Seldon and Brother Day alongside Lou Llobell as Gaal, Leah Harvey as Salvor, Laura Birn as Demerzel, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk, and Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn.
Here’s the official synopsis for the series:
Based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov, Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.
Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) directed the pilot, and Foundation is currently set to premiere on AppleTV+ sometime in 2021.
