SUITS Creator Says Even He Underestimated the Show's Success as It Surpasses the All-Time Streaming Record
The series Suits is now streaming on Netflix, and it is breaking records that even the show’s creator is surprised by. Suits originally ran on USA Network from 2011 to 2019 with nine seasons. The show, about a New York law firm, stars Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, as well as Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman, and Meghan Markle in her final role before becoming a British royal.
The series just broke another Nielsen streaming record by extending its streak atop the weekly Top 10 to 12 straight weeks. Even Suits creator Aaron Korsh seems a little stunned by his series’ runaway success in its second life.
“I always thought we were underestimated, but it turns out, even I underestimated #Suits,” he wrote in a retweet of Deadline’s story on the latest streaming record broken by his show. “It’s good to be the King.”
Netflix algorithms and peoples’ curiosity of Meghan Markle may point to some of the interest in the series, as well as the fact that Suits was just great, captivating story-telling, with fantastic (and beautiful) actors on board. I loved the series, and watched it week to week when it was on, but have even thought about going back for a rewatch now that it’s on Netflix. Have you checked it out yet?
