SUKI ALONE Will Tell the Tale of Suki at the Boiling Rock
Avatar: The Last Airbender has a pretty dedicated fan base and Dark Horse is getting ready to release a new comic for fans to enjoy. While most stories in the universe of The Last Airbender tend to focus on Team Avatar or other benders like Kyoshi, the new comic breaks the mold a little by following a non-bender.
Suki Alone will follow the incredible fighter that is the Kyoshi Warrior named Suki! Suki is a fan-favorite character who can hold her own in a fight. The story in Suki Alone will show what Suki had to endure at the Boiling Rock prison during the third season of the animated series.
Even a Kyoshi Warrior can find herself in trouble, but even then, she’ll never give up.
Suki is captured by the Fire Nation and brought to the Boiling Rock, a grim prison in the middle of a dormant volcano. Separated from Team Avatar and her Kyoshi Warrior sisters, she decides to build her own community among other prisoners. But it’s going to take more than an encouraging word to build trust among so many frightened people. Suki will need to draw on all her resources to do it, and even that might not be enough.
The team behind Suki Alone includes Faith Erin Hicks and Peter Wartman, colorist Adele Matera, and letterer ComiCraft. In addition, Tim Hedrick who worked on the animated series will serve as a consultant. Fans can pre-order their copies of the graphic novel from Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, or their local comic shops. Suki Alone will launch on June 22, 2021.
