I’ve got a couple of videos for you to watch and enjoy this weekend for Sam Raimi’s classic 1981 film The Evil Dead. I’ve got a video that features some great behind-the-scenes footage and outtakes from the film. It’s really cool to see how this small crew of filmmakers made this movie! This was a low-budget $90,000 film, and it spawned an epic horror franchise that audiences still enjoy all these years later.
I also included a documentary on the making of the film, which features rare footage from the production and interviews with the cast and crew. That doc offers a lot of interesting insight that fans are sure to appreciate.
The Evil Dead is a cult classic horror film directed by Sam Raimi. The plot revolves around five college students — Ash, his girlfriend Linda, and their friends Cheryl, Scott, and Shelly — who travel to a remote cabin in the woods for a vacation. Upon their arrival, they find a mysterious book known as the "Necronomicon Ex-Mortis" and a tape recording of incantations. When they play the tape, it inadvertently releases an ancient evil force. One by one, the group becomes possessed by malevolent spirits, leading to a harrowing and gory fight for survival.
The film is known for its innovative camera work, low-budget practical effects, and its blend of intense horror with dark humor.
