SUPER MARIO MAKER 2 Gets World Maker and Much More in Final Update
Here’s something I didn’t expect. Less than a year after its release, Nintendo has announced that Super Mario Maker 2 will receive its final update today. The new update is free and is pretty substantial. The first thing fans will love is the addition of the new World Maker mode. This will allow creators to combine up to 40 of their courses across up to 8 worlds in order to create their very own mini Super Mario game to share with friends.
In addition, the Koopalings will be making their debut in Super Mario Maker 2. Each of the seven enemies will feature a unique movement pattern to challenge anyone daring enough to take on your courses. The Phanto and Mechakoopas are also making their way to the game.
Of course there’s more new fun stuff for fans to enjoy. The SMB2 Mushroom will transform the characters to look like their sprites from Super Mario Bros. 2 and gift the ability to pick up and throw enemies and items like in the classic game. The Frog Suit hails from Super Mario Bros. 3 and will allow Mario and pals to swim more easily and even run across water! Creators will also be able to add the Power Balloon from Super Mario World, the Super Acorn from Super Mario Bros. U, the Boomerang Flower from Super Mario 3D World, and 5 variations for wearables from Super Mario 3D World like the Cannon Box and Propeller Box.
The free update is live today, April 22, and is sure to give fans a lot more to enjoy and create.
