SUPERGIRL Test Screening Provides the Film's Runtime, Lobo News, Praise for Milly Alcock and an "Underwhelming" Villain
We are still over six months out from the release of the DC Superman follow-up, Supergirl, and the studio has already begun test screenings to see where the audience sits before they put the finishing touches on.
Insider Daniel Richtman was first to report (via CBM) that a test screening took place this week, and he's "heard nothing but good things from several people." However, trailer and runtime leaker @Cryptic4KQual has a bit more of a balanced review.
The insider shared, "Yes, Supergirl had a test screening. Roughly 2 hours 5 mins. From what I heard, [the] feedback was not that great, but it wasn't a bad film. Some scenes shined a lot more than others. Milly is praised for her acting in the role. Lobo has 2 fights. The villain is underwhelming."
For what it’s worth, Superman also received mixed reviews from test screenings, so we can always take these reviews with a grain of salt. Plus, the feedback used in these screenings can be used to alter the film when the director and editor dive back in to see it through the audience’s eyes.
After all is said and done, I look forward to seeing this movie on the big screen. I loved Superman, and everyone seems to agree that Milly Alcock is great in this role.
Supergirl is set to be released on June 26, 2026.
