SUPERMAN Spinoff Series DC CRIME Featuring Jimmy Olsen in the Works with Gorilla Grodd as the Villain

A new Superman spinoff series, DC Crime, is currently in the works at DC Studios and HBO Max. The series is billed as a true crime docuseries with Jimmy Olsen from Superman hosting, with returning star Skyler Gisondo from James Gunn’s summer blockbuster reprising his role.

Season one reportedly will be centered around DC bad guy Gorilla Grodd, who often wrestles The Flash. Grodd had psychic powers and other skills after his encounter with an alien spaceship. The character was first created in 1959 and has even starred in the former DC’s Arrow-verse.

DC Crime comes from Tony Yacenda (Chad Powers, Dave) and Dan Perrault (The Residence) who are the creators of Netflix’s American Vandal series, which was a true crime satire series that ran from 2017-2018.

They’ll write, executive produce and showrun the series. DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran are EPs with Galen Vaisman overseeing production. Warner Bros. Television is also producing.
