SUPERNATURAL ACADEMY Animated Series Announces Cast And First Look Images
Peacock has a new YA animated series in the works, Supernatural Academy. Based on the books by Jaymin Eve, the series will star Larissa Dias, Gigi Saul Guerro, Vincent Tong, Cardi Wong, Shannon Chan-Kent, Bethany Brown, Brian Drummond, Barbara Kottmeier, Alessandro Juliani, Aly J Eisner, Diana Kaarina, and Kathleen Barr. Here’s the official synopsis for the show:
The series is the book adaptation of best-selling series “The Supernatural Academy” from Jaymin Eve, chronicling an otherworldly adventure of sisters marked at birth. One twin sister was raised in the Supernatural world, confident and popular. The other was raised in the human world, an offbeat outsider. Now they're about to be reunited at the Supernatural Academy, and neither one of them is thrilled about it. These adversarial twins will have to learn to get over their differences and trust each other in order to save themselves – and save the world!
I haven’t read the book series, but I’m pretty excited to see animation being embraced as the medium for a story like this. I’m personally tired of trying to make live action fantasy shows where magic is heavily used. It's time to give animation a chance to shine for stories like this. Our first look images look interesting, but I’ll wait to pass judgement until seeing how well everything moves. You can check out all the episodes of this show when it drops on January 20.
