Sydney Sweeney Being Considered for Lead Role in THE RUNNING MAN Opposite Former Co-Star Glen Powell
Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, The White Lotus) is in talks to reunite with her Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell in the Paramount adaptation of author Stephen King’s The Running Man, which is being helmed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Baby Driver).
Industry scooper Daniel Richtman says Sweeney is being eyed to play an undisclosed role. There are a number of characters from the book she could play, but it’s likely that she would play Amelia Williams, Ben's hostage in the story.
Sweeney starred in the heavily panned Sony pic Madame Web earlier this year, but the star has enough of a solid track record that the flop hasn’t slowed her down at all. She recently wrapped production on director Ron Howard’s upcoming thriller, Eden, and she has been vocal about her excitement to remake the 1968 sci-fi cult classic Barbarella.
The Running Man has been in the works for quite some time, but it sounds like it’s starting to gain some traction. We will let you know more as it continues to develop.
