Sydney Sweeney Reportedly Playing Spider-Woman in MADAME WEB Film
The upcoming Marvel movie Madame Web has kept it’s details under wraps for the most part. The film will star Dakota Johnson in the title role of the spun-off clairvoyant mutant, and while we have heard who a few of the other castmembers will play, the other lead, Sydney Sweeney’s role, had been kept a secret.
According to Coming Soon, on the latest episode of The Hot Mic — insider Jeff Sneider’s podcast — Sneider stated that Sweeney will be playing Spider-Woman.
He explained that he isn’t sure which Spider-Woman the actress will be, as multiple characters have used the name in the comics, but previous rumors point to Julia Carpenter — the second Spider-Woman — as the likely candidate, which Sneider mentioned himself.
Also in the film, Emma Roberts is set to play Mary Parker, and Adam Scott will play Ben Parker. They are joined by Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, and Zosia Mamet.
Madame Web is currently in post-production, and is expected to hit theaters on February 16, 2024.
