SyFy Renews its CHILD'S PLAY Horror Series CHUCKY For Season 2
Child’s Play creator Don Mancini is going to get to continue his series Chucky because SyFy has announced that they have greenlit the show for Season 2! This series has actually been a lot of fun to watch, and the eight-episode first season is coming to an end tonight, November 30th, with the season finale.
Chucky revolves around the evil red-haired, freckled-faced doll who is possessed by the soul of notorious serial killer, Charles Lee Ray. In the series, “after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”
Chucky stars Brad Dourif, alongside Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise McCarthy and Jennifer Tilly who has reprised her role from previous films as well as new cast members including Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Lex Doig and Devon Sawa.
Don Mancini shared in a statement:
“We’re thrilled to start pulling the strings on a second season of puppet mayhem with Chucky. Many thanks to our partners at USA, SYFY and UCP for their incredible support and guidance bringing ‘Chucky’ to the small screen, bigger than ever. And to the fans, Chucky sends his still-undying thanks, and a message: ‘This isn’t over, not by a long shot. You better watch your backs in 2022.’”
If you haven’t watched the first season of Chucky yet, you should check it out! If you’re a horror fan, you’ll most likely enjoy it.
