Sylvester Stallone is Set to Star in and Produce a Superhero Drama Called SAMARITAN
Sylvester Stallone is teaming up with MGM to produce and star in a new superhero drama called Samaritan. Stallone will produce through his Balboa Productions, which was launched in May.
The film’s story will center on a boy who learns that “a missing superhero, who vanished 20 years earlier after a battle, may still be alive.” There aren’t any other details on the story, but I imagine Stallone will be playing the missing superhero.
The script for the film was written by Bragi F. Schut (Season of The Witch, Escape Room) and it sounds like it could be a decent movie with an interesting story. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what comes of it.
Stallone is also producing another project at MGM about boxer Jack Johnson, who was a dominant boxer and the first African-American heavyweight champion. He was convicted of violating the Mann Act in 1910 for transporting a woman across state lines for “immoral purposes.” He was eventually pardoned by President Donald Trump with the help of Stallone.
The filmmaker is also set to produce more Creed sequels and spinoffs.
What are your thoughts on this superhero movie that Stallone is developing at the moment?
