Sylvester Stallone is Still Working on His Edgar Allan Poe Biopic; Here's an Update and Old Photo of Him as Poe
Sylvester Stallone has been working on trying to get his Edgar Allan Poe biopic made since the late 70s. In fact, he says that it was the first serious screenplay that he ever wrote.
This is a passion project for the legendary actor and after all these years, he’s still not giving up on it! He’s still developing and working on trying to get it made. He recently took to Instagram and posted a video promising his fans that his latest draft of the script for would eventually be completed.
It’s crazy that he’s been working on this project for decades, but he’s not giving up on it! The actor shared glimpses of the script in the video, which comes with the caption, "It’s a long road to reach your goals but it’s definitely worth the journey…"
The filmmaker also said in the video, “It’s a never-ending journey, and I would hate myself if I don’t continue it at least to the best of my ability and try to see it, actually, come to fruition. To be able to go out there and say, ‘I accomplished it. It may have taken 45 years-50 years, but it’s done.’ Anyway. That’s what I’m working on. It’s been one of the great challenges of my life.”
Stallone also previously shared an old photo of him all decked out as Edgar Allan Poe. He wanted to play the character at one point, but felt that he wasn’t right for the role. If you’ve never seen the photo before, you can check it out below. it’s the only surviving picture that has never been seen of Stallone as Poe.
I’d love to see Stallone get to direct this film that he’s been working on for so long. What do you think?
