Sylvester Stallone to Shoot RAMBO: LAST BLOOD After CREED
If you're wondering what's going on with Sylvester Stallone's fifth Rambo movie, you might be happy to know that he still plans on making it. A few months ago it was revealed that the film would be called Rambo: Last Blood, and that he might be directing it. In a couple of recent tweets talking about his upcoming projects, the actor said,
"Going to Philly to start the film CREED.... What a great idea"
"Doing Scarpa based on Gangster Greg Scarpa after LAST BLOOD RAMBO..."
I don't know if this means the title of the film will actually Last Blood: Rambo, but it does confirm that Last Blood is the sub-title for the movie. Seems fitting for a franchise that began with First Blood. Stallone doesn't say when exactly he is planning to shoot Rambo, but it obviously won't happen until after he's finished with his Rocky spinoff film, Creed.
Stallone has been training for Rambo 5 since August, and it sounds like he's ready to kick some ass and kill hundreds of bad guys. Once he's done with that, he'll take on Brad Furman‘s Scarpa, which was written by Goodfellas and Casino screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi.
Scarpa "tells the story of Gregory Scarpa, a former capo and hit man for the Colombo crime family known as the Grim Reaper. Scarpa boasted of killing 50 people and eventually turned FBI informant during his tenure in the mob. Subsequently, Scarpa contracted HIV and died from AIDS-related complications in 1994.”
That sounds like an interesting project, but I'm definitely more excited about seeing the last chapter in the Rambo franchise.
