Sylvester Stallone's SAMARITAN Trailer Reaction - CinemaCon 2021
We recently had the opportunity to watch the first trailer for Sylvester Stallone upcoming superhero thriller Samaritan at CinemaCon, and this movie looks freakin’ awesome!
The film’s story is based on an original idea that will center on a boy who sets out to discover if “a mythic superhero, who vanished 20 years earlier following a tragic event, is still alive.”
Stallone takes on the role of that hero. The movie is being directed by Julius Avery (Overlord) and he previously said, "We’re going to see Sly do things he hasn’t done in a long time."
That’s definitely true! After watching this trailer and seeing Stallone back in action in a way we haven’t seen in a long time is pretty damn cool.
Avery explained that the tone of the movie will be grounded in reality as it will tell a story about a kid looking for a father figure, but it’s going to be loaded with action and some of the action that I saw in the trailer is insanely badass!
"This is a big event movie – we see our heroes kicking ass. We’re going to see Sly do things he hasn’t done in a long time, and in a really inventive way. He’s 73 years old! I’m amazed by how much he actually does. I’m telling you, most guys in their twenties wouldn’t be able to do what Sly does in this movie.”
The movie hits theaters on August 26th, 2021.
